It all started with a little girl sitting at the feet of her grandmother listening to her extol the virtues of good character and financial responsibility while navigating the unpredictable twists and turns that she would face in life.

Today, that little girl, Carmen Johnson, has transformed her success into one of the most engaging philanthropic organizations in the Washington Metropolitan Area – The Katie Able Foundation which is named after her grandmother, who passed on to her the secrets of financial and professional success. Since its beginning in 2009, The Katie Able Foundation has provided mentoring support to more than 866 youth and 5,000 adults and families.
